Sweden is Scandinavia’s largest logistics market — with major ports, a strong manufacturing export base, and growing e-commerce volumes. IFN connects Swedish independent freight forwarders with 235+ vetted partners in 93+ countries, financial protection, and annual conferences.
Swedish independent freight forwarders have deep expertise in Scandinavian logistics, cold chain operations, automotive supply chains, and industrial export cargo. This expertise makes Swedish IFN members highly valuable to international partners who need a reliable Nordic agent.
IFN gives Swedish forwarders the global network to deploy that expertise internationally — with financial protection on every transaction within the network.
Sweden’s freight forwarding industry handles some of Northern Europe’s highest cargo volumes. The Port of Gothenburg — Scandinavia’s largest container port — processes millions of TEUs annually, connecting Swedish manufacturers and importers to global trade lanes. Stockholm Arlanda, Gothenburg Landvetter, and other air cargo gateways serve significant express and high-value cargo flows.

Sweden–Americas — Transatlantic trade through Gothenburg and Stockholm

Everything you need to know about IFN membership for Swedish forwarders
Yes. IFN actively welcomes independent freight forwarding and logistics companies operating in Sweden — including companies based in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Malmö, and other Swedish logistics centres. IFN already has member companies that have participated in the annual conference and can confirm the value of the network for Nordic logistics operators.
All IFN members receive basic FPP (Financial Protection Plan) coverage as part of their membership — $2,000 USD for Premium members and $5,000 USD for Gold members — covering non-payment, fraud, and insolvency within the network. Members can upgrade to Full FPP Coverage for $500 USD/year, providing aggregate coverage up to $30,000 USD. This is particularly relevant for Swedish forwarders routing cargo to agents in less familiar markets.
